Y2K - Youth to Kenya

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.  Romans 12:1

Y2K is an acronym that stands for Youth to Kenya.  It is an intergenerational mission group of 15 people (adult & youth) at Faith Presbyterian Church who will be visiting our partner church in Nyeri, Kenya during the summer of 2010 for the following purposes:

  • To continue a face to face partnership with our friends in Nyeri, Kenya.
  • To assess the needs of the Children’s ministry and communicate back to Faith Church.
  • To continue growing in our Faith while participating with all the other Presbyterian Churches within the Riamukurwe Parish.

It has been a long, rewarding and challenging road as we have prepared for our mission to Kenya.  The money has been raised, the meetings are complete, and all is set for our July 22nd departure.

Trip Itinerary

The following people have made a commitment to this mission trip: Jack, Jacqueline, Lisa and Marissa Decker; John Gill; Andrew, Diane, Grady and Jim Millick; Lauren and Laurie Payea-Murray; Rachel and Steve Shussett; Darcy and Karen Trop.

God is working in us and through us throughout this process as we witness our faith outside of Faith Presbyterian Church.  God continues to bless us and challenge us through these efforts.  Thank you for your help and support throughout the past 18 months of planning.  We have challenged and stretched ourselves as a community while we looked at fundraising differently and inspired conversation about mission.  Please continue to pray for this mission throughout our trip.
