Worship Committee

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.  And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3:16-17

Taking an excerpt from our Guiding Vision Statement, the Worship Committee currently uses the following as a guide for decisions: To enable the congregation to Worship and glorify God in ways that “open our eyes and our hearts to Christ.”

Tactically, the Worship Committee will:

  • Explore how the parts of worship help us experience God;
  • Explore how the parts of the worship help us express our faith;
  • Create a variety of worshipful experiences.

There are numerous opportunities to express your interests and offer your gifts in Worship of our Lord.  Consider the following:

  • If you sing in the shower, try our choir loft next!
  • If you are looking for a new outlet for your love of music, try handbells, instrumental solos, or accompaniment!
  • If you enjoy playing with electronics, join our sound technician crew!
  • If you have an interest in leading in praise and prayer, we encourage you to be a worship assistant!
  • If you like to greet and serve others, you are needed as an usher/greeter!
  • If you enjoy planning or participating in other forms of worship, your enthusiasm and imagination are wanted!

“Each person is given something to do that shows who God is: Everyone gets in on it, everyone benefits.  All kinds of things are handed out by the Spirit, and to all kinds of people!  The variety is wonderful.” 1 Corinthians 12:7-8 (The Message translation)
