(High School Youth Ministry)

G.L.U.E. is the acronym chosen by a group of high school youth at Faith Presbyterian Church. It stands for God Leads Us Everywhere. Several meetings with the youth at Faith Church were held during the spring of 2008 to determine how to engage high school students in their own ministry. After several lively discussions and needs assessments, these students expressed a desire to meet more regularly and become more intentional in their participation within Faith Presbyterian Church. During 2009 dates were established and activities brainstormed and G.L.U.E. became an active component of Christian Education.

G.L.U.E. gatherings are held the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month (unless indicated on the church calendar) from 5:00-7:00 PM. The youth share a meal on the 2nd Sunday of the month.  The group discusses Scripture and how the Bible relates to current issues in the lives of High School youth. Activities are planned at these meetings that may include; service projects, visiting other churches, and possible other meeting times for youth fellowship.

What Will G.L.U.E. Do?

• Talk about Scripture and relate passages to current issues
• Eat a meal together
• Participate in Team Building activities
• Learn how to pray within a larger group (with Peers)
• Explore other churches within Lehigh Presbytery and experience different worship styles (contemporary, traditional, progressive, Jazz, hiking, The Barn)
• Brainstorm ways to do ministry within the local community
• Create a worship service
• Sing and learn new worship songs (write worship songs)
• Minister to each other with compassion and learn empathy
• Develop meaningful relationships
• Develop partnerships and work together with adults at Faith Church
• Just Chill Out and have FUN!

• NOTE – other G.L.U.E. related meeting times may occasionally be set and be posted on Church calendar, Sunday bulletin, Face Book, Church website.

THINGS TO CELEBRATE!

* Two full years of meetings with growing participation.

* Growing in our prayer life.

* Developing and implementing a Worship Service (Life House Everything skit).

* Working hand in Hand with Suzanne Seem generating enthusiasm singing songs during special worship.

* Watching our youth during the Christmas Eve service

* Taking an active role in planning and leading discussions during scripture time.
