For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me. Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see thee hungry and feed thee, or thirsty and give thee drink? And when did we see thee a stranger and welcome thee, or naked and clothe thee?’ And when did we see thee sick or in prison and visit thee? And the King will answer then, ‘Truly, I say to you , as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.’ Matthew 25: 35-40
Parish Nursing is the practical expression of the Pastor’s healing ministry to the sick. With passionate care, we:
• Advocate for the elderly and the sick
• Comfort the lonely, homebound and those suffering from chronic illness
• Support the grieving and dying
• Assist with social concerns such as insurance and living wills
• Educate the congregation to maintain a healthy life-style
• Counsel on health related issues
• Augment congregational outreach through programs, classes and screenings
• Serve as a liaison to health and support services• Release Christ’s love into the congregation through this nursing ministry
At Faith Presbyterian Church, we minister personally to the congregation, and offer support as health issues are constantly emerging. We do this quietly and silently, always guarding the member with privacy.
